Sammy T’s restaurant is starting a frozen yogurt business at its downtown Fredericksburg restaurant. The public will enter the business from Hanover Street. It will be in the space where the Caroline Street restaurant’s non-smoking section used to be. The restaurant has now been smoke-free for almost a year, so president Emory Rogers said the frozen yogurt operation will make good use of that space in the back. There will be indoor and outdoor seating. Rogers said the business, which will include 10 flavors of frozen yogurt and an assortment of toppings, will likely open in early May depending on how quickly building permits can be obtained from the city.
Sammy T’s was started 30 years ago by the late Sibby and Samuel T. Emory Jr. It’s still owned by members of the Emory family.
