A highway and pavement striping contractor is moving from Dumfries to Stafford County. A-Annandale Inc. will occupy the former Freeman Beverage Co. facility at 30 Baron Park Road off White Oak Road.

A-Annandale owner Sonny Younce bought that facility for $1.5 million late last month from longtime Freeman Beverage owner Jim Branscome. Johnson Realty Advisors brokered the deal.

A-Annandale, which was founded in 1982 in Annandale before moving to Dumfries in the late 1990s, does striping on private, state and federal roads throughout Virginia, Maryland and Washington. Younce, who bought A-Annandale about four years ago, said the company has outgrown its Dumfries facility. The Baron Park Road complex includes about 35,000 square feet of warehouse space, a 5,000-square-foot office and 4.3 acres.

A-Annandale employs about 70 people during peak times and about half that during the off-season, Younce said. He hopes to move the company to Stafford by early May following a renovation by Battlefield Commercial LLC. He plans to sell or lease the Dumfries property.
