Here’s an excerpt:

Introduction:

A school division is required to maintain and implement a six-year instructional plan under Standard 6 of the Standards of Quality for Virginia Schools. This six-year strategic plan for continuous improvement is for the 2010-2016 time period beginning with the 2010-2011 school year through the 2015-2016 school year. The division’s six-year strategic plan committee developed this plan with input from a diverse group consisting of parents, community members, school staff, students, administrative staff and community organizations.
In developing the six-year plan, many documents and data were reviewed to establish the present status of the school division and its services in order to look forward and plan for the future. The mission statement and guiding principles established by the Caroline County School Board were reviewed.
This plan will be a living document and is subject to review, modification, or biennial extension. An annual review will occur. The reports that are produced as measurements of the strategies will be used to prepare the Superintendent’s Annual Report. The strategic plan will provide direction for the development of the annual financial plan for the school division and each school’s annual school-wide plan.
