Potomac Supply Corporation yesterday sent notice to Westmoreland County Supervisor W.W. Hynson that it will be closing most of its sawmill and planing operation in Kinsale. The bottom line–57 employees will be laid off.

According to the letter, “Potomac has been adversely affected by the economy but this closure is due to sudden unforeseen business circumstances beyond the company’s control.” Some employees can stay on until the middle of January, but many were terminated yesterday.
