Amy Marie Harper, a former prosecutor with the Spotsylvania Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, has a date scheduled for her driving-while-intoxicated trial on charges stemming from an auto accident in December.
The 38-year-old Fredericksburg resident was charged late on Dec. 23 after her 2006 Porsche SUV allegedly rear-ended a car, which in turn rear-ended another car, on Salem Church Road, according to the Virginia State Police.

No one was injured in the crash, according to Bill Neely, Spotsylvania commonwealth’s attorney.

Harper faces charges of driving while under the influence, refusal to take a blood or breath test, and following too closely.

She resigned from the commonwealth’s attorney’s office on Jan. 13, according to Neely.

An attorney with the Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney Office will serve as the special prosecutor in the case.
Harper’s trial is set for March 5, according to the county’s General District Court website. Neely, however, said that date may be changed due to a conflict with her lawyer.
