A Fredericksburg man who was riding a bicycle on U.S. 17 in Stafford County was killed late Saturday night after being struck by a van in the travel lane, said State Police Sgt. Ron Grammer. Miguel Perez, 40, died at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 10:25 p.m. just east of Short Street in the Olde Forge area. The driver of the 2003 Chevrolet Venture that struck the bicycle was neither injured nor charged.
