A traffic stop in Prince William County led to the arrest of a Stafford County man on drug and infringement charges.
According to Prince William spokesman Jonathan Perok, an officer made a traffic stop in the 17000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Dumfries on Saturday.
During the stop, Perok said, a handgun, more than 200 illegal compact discs and marijuana were recovered.
He also said information was received that linked an occupant in the car to marijuana distribution in Prince William County.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence at 36 Elkton Drive in Stafford and seized another handgun, 10,000 illegal compact discs and additional marijuana, Perok said.
Michael Warren Murphy, 26, is charged with distribution of marijuana and violation of the Virginia Infringement Act.
He is being held without bond at the Prince William–Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center.
